Artificial Intelligence Group – Computer Science Department / University of Brasília

The Artificial Intelligence Group (GIA) at the University of Brasília (UnB) carries out research, teaching, and outreach activities related to Artificial Intelligence (AI). GIA’s main research efforts involve machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, bio-inspired computing, data visualization, and visual analytics, which are investigated to support these tasks. GIA is dedicated to the research and development of innovative intelligent methods and techniques, contributing to the advancement of scientific literature in these fields.

GIA has been registered in CNPq’s Research Groups Directory (DGP) since 2013, and its page can be accessed here (in Portuguese only).

Currently, the GIA group maintains research collaborations with both national and international groups. In Brazil, our researchers have collaborated with partners from the University of São Paulo (USP), São Paulo State University (Unesp), Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), Federal University of ABC (UFABC), Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), and Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU).

Furthermore, GIA researchers have established international collaborations with institutions such as the University of Tsukuba, George Mason University (GMU), University of California (UC Davis), University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney), University of Maryland (UMD), University of Münster (Universität Münster), University of Porto (U.Porto), University of Toulouse, Linnaeus University – Växjö (LNU), and Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).
